When it’s all dark and quiet
Slowly they creep in;
Crossing all the lanes long forgotten,
To dig out what is hidden deep within.
Sometimes it aches to death,
And sometimes it brings a glistening smile;
You can’t help but let it put in front,
The things you never talked about all this while.
Like the accidentally found dried petals from a book,
It covers your soul with the fragrance of bonds that once seemed impossible to break;
You trace back to find the reasons for not coming too far,
Trying to understand your mistake!
And on some days you try to shut your eyes in vain,
But it anyway brings it to your sight;
How your scars are a part undetachable,
How you conceal them in the light!
Conceal them to look perfect,
Like there is nothing dark around;
But oh dear! Have you ever heard a heroic tale,
That was without some ups and downs?
So, when it’s all dark and quiet
Slowly they creep in;
Crossing all the lanes long forgotten,
To dig out what is hidden deep within.
Sometimes making you smile and Sometimes cry,
That’s how Memories leave a mark on you,
No matter how much you try!
