When the nights were cold and dark,
Hiding from the world she took off her mask.
That day it rained heavily inside,
Her tears were black as there was a confluence with her darker side.
She cried with pain, she could no more hide,
Everything seemed shattered, she fell on the ground paralyzed.
The ground flooded with tears carrying something darker than the coal,
Everything seemed silent, lost was her soul.
She longed for someone to lift her up, as she couldn’t anymore crawl,
Her breaths, her heartbeats, sound of the blood oozing out of her knees, she could hear them all.
Her eyes were closed as everything drained,
That night her heart sank in and it heavily rained.
As the morning came and sunshine made its way through a crack in the dark window glass;
She got up from the ground,
Covered her bleeding knees with her gown.
Shedding her darker side and even before anyone could ask,
She faced the world again, wearing her mask.
